In a college town like Provo, Utah, who has money to take a trip to England? But have no fear, Howells British Grub brings the taste of English culture here. A small family run company, Howells British Grub sells authentic English pies and pasties, cheeses, burgers, and pastries. Christmas came early to Provo when they opened their doors for a sneak peek food tasting the morning of December 21st.
Available for tasting were pie and pasty mixes (without the pastry), sausages, cheeses, a burger, and Welsh Cakes. Each sample had its own distinct and delicious taste with seasonings and spices shipped directly from their factory in the UK. My favorites were the mix for their chicken and sweet corn pie (which I promptly ordered to take home) and the chocolate chip Welsh Cakes. Something not to be missed is their amazing customer service. The owners of the company not only were immediately noticeable as family but made all in attendance feel like family too. I was never without a new delicious food in my hand.
Howells British Grub has an anticipated opening date of April 2020 but until then will take orders via their Facebook and Instagram pages. Follow them on social media and order their pies if you want to experience what England truly tastes like.
