Salt Lake City’s The Great Bear Folk Theater has produced an intimate showcase of storytelling and music in A January Thaw. Located in the heart of the Gateway shopping center in downtown Salt Lake, audience members can expect a folksy collection of local talent and a warm theater to escape the cold. Written by J. Omar Hansen and directed by Kierra Hansom Burns, the self-proclaimed “play in 10 minutes” A January Thaw is a human perspective on relationships and how we choose to spend our time and is the main feature of the showcase.
Set on a minimalist stage, the ensemble cast of Brigham Hansen, Omar Hansen and Lori Hansen, Rob Burns, Annie Eastmond and Dan Eastmond, and Carrie Ashton create a warm night of storytelling for all ages. Each song and story are performed with a true passion for the craft. With a total run time of an hour and a half this is a great way spend a night in downtown Salt Lake.
