Review by Jennifer Mustoe, Front Row Reviewers
An exciting event is happening right now and we at Front Row Reviewers would like to give it a shout out and show our complete promotion and support. It’s FilmQuest, a gathering of indie feature films and shorts that can appeal to a variety of genres. You can find a list of them here.
FilmQuest takes place in Provo, Utah, however, the films can be viewed online, giving a larger audience the opportunity to view these new and exciting pieces. Velour Live Musical Gallery in Downtown Provo is easy to get to on Provo’s University Avenue and is a lovely, comfortable space.

On the FilmQuest website, each entry has a full description of its storyline and rating, but also who is involved in each film, including the production team and the actors and so forth. Heavily recommended by a group of many prestigious indie film professionals (see the list at the bottom of the title page), this indie film festival is one you mustn’t miss. In fact, in my interview with Jonathan Martin, one of the entries from last year received an Academy Award.
This year’s festival began on October 23, 2025 and continues until Saturday, November 1st. And not only are there films to enjoy, but a variety of other activities such as a game night, a hatchet throwing party (now you don’t get to attend this every day!), workshops, a studio tour, and more. There is something offered at FilmQuest that will appeal to everyone.
But most importantly, FilmQuest is a treat and perhaps a priority for those who enjoy indie films, but are also interested in the creation aspect of the business.

All who are involved are very passionate about their work and this genre and festival, and being able to be a part of this is something that attendees will enjoy to the fullest. Click here for tickets and passes. Prices range from $8.00 (Single Screening Ticket – Student Ticket *Your Choice, Any Single Screening*–but they are selling fast!) to $800 for a VIP Non-Local Full Festival Pass 2025, and everything in between. There are productions and prices for everyone.
See the program guide here, to message about FilmQuest click here. For the plethora of information about FilmQuest, including Prizes and Awards, information about the Filmmaker Jury, and Categories, click on the About Tab.

Though Front Row Reviewers focuses predominantly on live productions taking place in Utah, we are fully committed to “Celebrating the GOOD in the Arts”, and FilmQuest celebrates an art form that is thoroughly important and enjoyably represented. Enjoy this wonderful festival!
FYI: There are many comfortable and affordable local accommodations and a user friendly rapid transit system, and two airports (Salt Lake City and Provo) for those who aren’t locals.
