It may be a few weeks past the titular date, but there is never a bad time to see William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Eagle Mountain Community Theater will perform this seminal classic to Eagle Mountain‘s Silverlake Amphitheater, American Fork‘s Towne Hub, and Heber City‘s Timpanogos Valley Theater this September. This play, first performed in in 1595, challenges patriarchy, highlights the struggling artist, explores true love, and hilariously demonstrates the perils of alliances between fairies and ordinary folks. Four Athenian lovers, 5 amateur actors, and mischievous fairies take over the woods outside of Athens in this hilarious romantic comedy.
Join the young lovers, Hermia, Lysander, Helena and Demetrius as they steal away to avoid punishment and find love while unseen fairies run amuck and twist their emotions for their enjoyment. Meanwhile, a group of 5 amateur actors meet together to rehearse a play intended for the great wedding feast, but little do they know the fairies have their own performance in mind.
Join EMCT as they present one of Shakespeare’s most beloved and classic shows, A Midsummer Night’s Dream! Directed by Nathan Jenson.
