By Ben Watson

Around The Watercooler, by Anthony LeRoy Lovato, will feel instantly familiar to anyone stuck in the work from home merry-go-round of maintaining connections with co-workers.  The Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival streaming video presentation is a quick nine minutes of humor, irony, and charming, yet cringe-worthy vignettes set in the online meeting space. Viewers share in the back and forth banter between Jim, Jan, and Joe, all played with aplomb by Lovato. Almost as soon as we get to know these characters, we come to the end of this experiment, and we are left wanting more.

Content in Around the Watercooler is quirky, witty, and only slightly suggestive. This is about as tame as a Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival show gets, and probably rates a safe PG. Office dwellers and comedy fans alike will find much to savor in this morsel of online theater.

Audiences will have one more opportunity to view the show on Sunday, August 9 at 1:45 PM. The show streams on The Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival main website and is free, although donations to 4shortsshorts@gmail.com are welcome. Check out Around the Watercooler and see what bubbles up for you.
