The thrill of competition is alive and well in Eagle Mountain Community Theater’s lively production of Annie Get Your Gun at Frontier Middle School in Eagle Mountain.  This classic musical by sibling duo Herbert Fields and Dorothy Fields, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin is a tale of girl vs. boy battling at its best.

Kristen Zabriskie along with Amy Hart (vocal director) directs an enthusiastic ensemble and brings young cast members full of charismatic energy together with those who have more experience in a lively way. This cast has perfected the art of comedic timing, as they delivered line after line of clever banter onstage. Adding to the fun atmosphere are live pianists Ann Sweeny and Hart (who also provides sound effects through the show).

In a wonderfully western tale, we hear the story of Annie Oakley (Caroline Anderson), as an uneducated, sharp shooting country girl who provides for her siblings with her skillful hunting.  Discovered by Buffalo Bill, she is recruited to join his Wild West Show where she meets the dashing Frank Butler, played by Ryan Davis, who is the star of the shooting show and willing to put his marksman skills up against anyone.  Romance soon begins to bloom between the two but may be doomed to fail as they compete for the spotlight.

Impotence is not measured to price tadalafil tablets indicate decreasing libido, incapability to expostulate or accomplish orgasm, a lack of power or defeat of “maturity”. The primary end use requirement is usually general levitra uk functionality. You could be having a serious side effect such as : sudden vision loss; Ringing in your ears, or sudden hearing loss; Chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;* irregular heartbeat;* swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet;* shortness of breath;* vision changes;* feeling light-headed, fainting; Less serious viagra in uk may include: * warmth or redness in. Kamagra, with the help of its functional ingredient sildenafil citrate, allowing the smooth muscles in the penis to become erect when required while the other keeps it erect at all price sildenafil djpaulkom.tv times.

Anderson’s portrayal of Annie is spot on as a poor country gal who is stuck between finding out who she is and handling her family responsibilities despite her uneducated status. Her delightfully dumb and playful siblings (Brooke Valderrama, Emily Hales, Amelia Davis, and Ella Hales) add their fun and spunky attitude, and together bring country hick to the forefront in “What Comes Naturally”. Anderson shows vulnerability as her character is repeatedly taken advantage of, and she seeks to improve her station in life. Her heartfelt yearnings for love are expressed beautifully as she genuinely and sweetly sings ballads such as “Falling in Love”, and her sass and spunk are highlighted in the higher energy numbers.

Davis gets under our skin as the chauvinistic Frank, who thinks he knows just what a girl should be. He brings a spirited energy to his champion character, while proving clueless to how a female could possibly be more than just pretty. Davis’s bright and cheerful voice is best highlighted in the delightful “My Defenses are Down”.

Onstage chemistry by Anderson and Davis is fun and playful throughout the evening, highlighted in several duets such as “Old Fashioned Wedding”. It is heart warming to see growth of character in the couple as they learn to appreciate the differences in each other and learn that compromise and respect are key in a successful relationship.

Featured cast is rounded out well by the other male characters Jerid Clark (Charlie Davenport), Nathan Evans (Foster Wilson, Pawnee Bill), and Jonathon Zabriskie (Buffalo Bill). These actors feed off each other’s energy as punchlines fly back and forth and silly choreography by the team of K. Zabriskie, Wendy Francis, Jessica Jones, and Valderrama highlight humorous song lyrics with lively spirit. Along with Davis, they have some great harmonies that add depth to the vocal performances.

Chief Sitting Bull is played hilariously deadpan by Joshua Jones. The consistency of character makes his performance funnier every moment. Frank’s assistant Dolly, (Rebecca Carrol) brings spunky indignation to a whole new level as she desperately tries to climb her own ladder of success in showbiz.

Annie Get Your Gun is more than just a love story or a battle of the sexes. It is a story of how people can grow together and understand one another despite personal differences, which I feel is something that we should try to experience in life every day. Eagle Mountain Community Theater’s performance at Frontier Middle School helps us see how humor and personal growth can lead to better relationships.  That’s a goal that we all should shoot for.
