You don’t want to miss the Renaissance Faire hosted at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. There are activities for all ages throughout the day.

The magic begins when you walk through the gate and see all the booths selling unique Renaissance-y, medieval-ish items: clothes, trinkets, decorations, toys, weapons—you name it. There’s so much to look at. All venders and employees at the faire wear renaissance outfits to further enchant the crowds.

To complete the package of the Renaissance theme, there are several events to go see. The Magic of Mike Hamilton is great for all ages. He is exceptional at including the audience. In the show I went to, the magician pulled from the audience at least six kids, a college-age woman and a middle-aged man. This magic show is catered for everyone.

If magic is not your thing, and you came to see real knights, then you have your wish. Go to the armored combat arena to see the knights fight and wrestle in full armor. The clanking of the armor and the energy of the crowd really gets you into the Renaissance spirit.

After seeing the armored combat, you can watch the Masters of Dueling, who humorously teach their audience the traditions of dueling. The masters are a Scotsman, a Spaniard, and an Englishman, a recipe for arguments leading to ridiculous duels. The audience doesn’t stop laughing, with all the funny slapstick and dialogue.

The crown jewel of these events in the Knights of Mayhem Joust. The two knights, Avery and Hector, go head to head in a good, old-fashioned joust. And what’s a good, old-fashioned joust without a good, old-fashioned sword fight to resolve who the real champion is? You can feel the thunder of the charging horses. It’s an exhilarating event. Of all the events to see, this is the one you don’t want to miss.

There is so much to do at the Renaissance Faire in Lehi, Utah. There is no opportunity to be bored. I didn’t have time to see all there is to see. Also on the agenda, you can choose to see equestrian vaulters, Banjara world dancers, Shakespeare monologues and music, a pirate show, an escape artist, a fire show, and much more. It is well worth your time and money to go see the Renaissance Faire.
